Ian Morelan

Ian was born in McMinn Co. Tennessee, and grew up in the small town of Etowah. While attending the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, Ian decided that he wanted to pursue a career in law enforcement. In early 2005, Ian would move to Sevierville, and by the end of September that year he would begin his career at the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office as a corrections officer.  Ian went on to have an extensive career in corrections, including being promoted to the rank of lieutenant.

But Ian wanted to focus more on his family and to do more for the community. In early 2023, Charles Brackins proposed the idea of becoming barbers without knowing that Ian had wanted to be a barber ever since he was a child going to Johnny Coe’s barbershop in his hometown.  The barber journey would begin at that moment.  The next year at the K.O. Barber Academy would be hard work, but the grind would bring life to the Salty Barber Company.

Now that Salty Barber Company is up and running, Ian actually has time for himself once again. When Ian is not at the shop trying to keep Sevier County looking sharp, you can find him spending time with his family or tinkering on cars or guns.
